Summer Projects

Peter and I love to do projects together! Whenever we have a free weekend you can usually find us at Lowes or Home Depot getting ready for a new project on the house. This summer we decided to build a new deck for the back yard. It took us about 20 hours from start to finish, but it was worth it! Here it is from start to finish. Everyone is invited over to come and enjoy it!!!

2030 pounds of Oklahoma Slate!

One step at a time. First the gravel...

Then the weed cover...

Then the sand...

Then the stone and mortar! The truck was so low to the ground, I thought it was going to bust!

The stone had to be laid piece by piece just like a puzzle. Getting all the pieces to fit took a little while.

Almost finished!

We finished the remainder of the mortar that evening and the next night or two.
All finished! Here it is! Our new deck!

We got the tent and furniture up the next weekend. Followed by Peter's grandmom's bird bath and the flowers! Time for the next project...!

Okay...life is still not settling down, but i still want to see you. When will be good for you. Clay leaves next Sunday morning to go to San Angelo to start work. We have the State fair the following weekend with family and then the weekend after that I am going to go look for places to live. So I guess that brings us to the end of October! We have to get together before I leave. I still have your jacket that I need to get to you!
